Staying at the Casino Royale in Las Vegas

I recently had several friends coming to Las Vegas for a meeting and even though I reside in Las Vegas they wanted me in the future remain on the Strip using them so we could spend time and do some gambling, drinking, and partying such as the old days. They informed me they where staying at the Venetian, so I went online to test the area rates and they were starting at $200 a night. Most those who know me claim I am cheap, I favor frugal, I'm always looking for the best value, so $200 an evening was out of the question when I live fifteen minutes from the strip.

Obviously staying on the strip could be very convenient, so I decided to see if I possibly could find a better deal. I found the Casino Royale that is right in the midst of the Venetian and Harrah's Casino, less when compared to a five minute walk to the Venetian. More to the point their room rates for the center of the week where only $29 a night. I booked a room with a king size bed as fast as my fingers could enter my credit card number!

I checked into my room on a Wednesday, sign in was pretty smooth, and I realized this was a budget hotel. I'm not even sure they've bellhops, I only had one bag so I didn't even look for one. After getting my room key and heading upstairs I was happily surprised by how nice my room was. The king size bed was firm with big fluffy pillows, there is an in room safe, an ice box, and what looked like a 37" flat screen TV. The rooms apparently where recently remodeled and it showed. In the bathroom there clearly was a bar of soap, a bottle of shampoo and conditioner, hairdryer, lots of towels, and housekeeping was excellent.

The only draw back to the area is that the region to hang up your clothes and the restroom were small, but functional, it would be hard for two people to navigate. One good thing for me was that the rooms at the Casino Royale are non-smoking.

The Casino Royale has several places to eat on site, starting with an Outback Steakhouse, which can be great by the way. They likewise have a Denny's, Subway, and a Ben and Jerry's. A Noble Roman's junk food pizza can also be situated on site, which to be honest is horrible, the rest was great, but steer clear of the pizza place.

If you want Margaritas or Michelob beer, you're in the best place. The bar in the middle of the casino offers $1.00 frozen lime or strawberry margaritas. Also offered are $1.00 Michelob and Michelob Lite beers, and they sell lots of both. If neither sounds appealing to you in addition they offer drinks from the well for only $1.50, that produce this the cheapest destination for a drink on the strip if you are not gambling.

One word of advice, this is a small hotel and very near the strip so when you can request an area on the north side of the hotel it will undoubtedly be quieter. Over-all my stay in the Hotel was great, and a great value and I would recommend it to others and have no problem staying there again.
